“56% of information is forgotten within one hour” according to an article on Reasons Why People Forget (https://www.verywellmind.com/explanations-for-forgetting-2795045).
One of the main reasons is based on the elapse of time, as referred to the Decay Theory coined by Edward Thorndike, who was a famous American Psychologist and often referred to as “the founder of modern psychology”. This theory states that “over time, these memory traces begin to fade and disappear. If the information is not retrieved and rehearsed; it will eventually be lost”.
To us, all of our attention is devoted to our loved ones, especially our babies. Yet, it is unimaginable that there are tragic accidents still occurring in all parts of the world. We simply cannot and shall not let this happen, and that is the main reason for our persistence. Babies are a part of us as they are the continuity of life for generations to come. Once they enter our lives, we change our world for them.
