You should never bet against time!

There are certainly things in our lives that are important to us, but one of the most important things that we go by each day is none other than time.  Each work day, we do our routine, get ready to head out the door, and try to beat the clock so that we arrive before the designated time for work.  However, there is one thing that you should not do against time: Be late.

No matter how hard we try, sometimes we will run late. There are certain unforeseen factors that may affect our punctuality, such as change in weather, traffic, vehicle accidents, breakdown of public transportation.  Therefore, it is wise to always plan ahead and try to arrive at a destination well ahead so that we will not be late.

But what happens when you are running late?  Sometimes we may run into a snowball effect where certain unfortunate incidents are compounded together in a tight timeline so that it makes a current situation worse than it is before.  The following is a true Pediatric Vehicular Heatstroke (PVH) case that took place on May 28th, in Palm Bay Florida.

Ms. Bulaine Moule never knew that running late would have a fatal effect on her 11-month-old daughter.  As she was schedule to preach in the church service that day, her and her husband quickly arrived at church, rushed inside and began to preach to her audience.  Three hours later, when the audience is dispersing out from the church, she realized all of a sudden that her daughter was missing.  She quickly searched the entire church, but could not find her daughter.  Then, her brain quickly recalled and retraced her steps when she first arrived on scene.  Only then, did she realize that she had accidentally left her baby inside her vehicle.  This deadly concoction of lateness, distraction, baby left in vehicle, and 81 degrees of hot weather quickly caught up to her and the result was a tragic death of her little baby.

Police were quickly called and her baby daughter was transported to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.  Three days later, Florida’s state attorney’s office issued an arrest made for the mother and one count of aggravated manslaughter of a child was filed.

Time is unforgiving as it never waits for anyone or anything.  But what can we do? As humans, we are given the gift of the ability to process, predict, and analyze our current situation.  Therefore, always try to arrive ahead of time so you do not feel rushed.  In the event when you do realize you are late, do not rush because mistakes or accidents are lurking behind you.  In the case above, there are devices such as our Baby Car Kit can prevent tragedies such as these.  Parents do need to avoid making mistakes, and purchasing our kit can be one of the best decisions that they can make in their lives.
